Golang Job: Site Reliability Engineer (SRE)

We are building a core banking platform that can scale up to serve a billion customers across different banks around the world. As well as providing familiar features such as bank cards, savings accounts and mortgages, our primary goal is to have the platform work every single time. No exceptions. We never want a customer to have their card declined because of an outage or defect.

We do this by blending cutting-edge technologies with battle-hardened and proven principles around architecture, security and delivery.

About the role

A Site Reliability Engineer (SRE) is the role which ensures that the product can provide world-class reliability for our banking clients and their customers. Our cloud native, API-driven platform comprises of Java microservices running on Kubernetes in AWS. We make extensive use of a fully managed Apache Kafka for orchestration, and the underlying platform stack is deployed using Terraform. You’ll be familiar with all these technologies and have the domain knowledge to drive reliability improvements across the platform, particularly with our development teams. A software engineering background and experience working on microservice architectures are required for this role.

Requirements

• Proven experience with Terraform and Golang.
• Applicable knowledge of event streaming technologies (e.g. Kafka).
• Experience building and operating services on AWS.
• Experience developing and maintaining PaaS infrastructure solutions.
• Experience implementing CI/CD automation.
• You are an integral part of SDLC design and implementation
• You write high quality, clean code that’s reliable, maintainable and performant.
• Experience integrating observability and logging tools.
• You have a deep understanding of best practices in agile software development.
• Comfortable making decisions with a high degree of autonomy, while working within a multidisciplinary team.
